I can write a lot about this cute little bakery, but only one thing is important…
Koekela has got the best cakes and cookies in town and I dare say, maybe even the country!
And now they’ve moved a couple of shops up the road to a bigger place where you can also sit and enjoy their goodness.
For muffins or cupcakes I’d suggest going a bit further to Alice in Cakeland (check the article), but stay in for the cookies and brownies! Don’t want to go out? They have a webshop!

Interesting to add is that one of the owners has designed the now famous Dudok apple cake in the past.
Years later she co-started Koekela and designed an apple cake that truly makes the different, even the bottom is nice to eat;) If you have tasted Koekela’s apple cake, you will recognise it elsewhere as Koekela sell cake’s to restaurants and bars in town, for them to re-sell it. Boy was I happy when they sold them at the International Fiolm Festival. Only too bad the cream wasn’t wipped by hand, right ion the spot. That is what they do at Koekela!
