I think that an “Apple” tile (Obuoliukas plytelė in Lithuanian) is one of the most favorite place for all lovers. In a little S. Moniuškos Square, which is located near the St. Catherine church, you can always meet a lot of in love people. The Apple tile represents the S. Moniuškos Square as a rendezvous place.
The Apple tile is one of a series of paving tiles, which was created by an artist Gitenis Umbrasas in 2007. The tile represents heart and apple. The apple and heart symbolic reminds us of the love story about Adam and Eve or the beginning of our Earth.
S. Moniuškos Square is a cozy place where you can relax, enjoy meeting friends or loved ones, or listen to a lot of good music. The Apple tile unites Lithuanian people and tourists for a lot of interesting events. Besides, I love S. Moniuškos Square because I can enjoy beauty and nature in the centre of the city.
