For me, the perfect bar is where you feel like you're at home - only that they have better drinks and you might meet new people :) At De Wetering, the music is never too loud, something that I'm very sensitive to. With a maximum of 50 guests, the bar is very cosy and the staff loves to get into conversations with guests. They've done a great job in adding some simple elements to the coziness and the warm atmosphere: the open fire upstairs is an amazing treat in winter and still nice to look at the rest of the year.
When you and your friends feel in the mood, you can grab one of the board games and I'm sure you'll find other people to join in, since its clients usually comprise relaxed, open-minded people. Also, the location is quite extraordinary: it's on a very quiet, picturesque street, although tourist sites like the Rijksmuseum and Leidseplein are only 5 minutes of walking away!
