A vegetarian takeaway restaurant with southern flavours ranging from the Mediterranean to the Middle East, Le Sud has been my go-to lunch spot for many years. It’s a small, family-owned place where simplicity and quality do all the work, and it works perfectly. What I love most is that they’re not chasing social media fame; they’re simply dedicated to serving the same tasty food with the same friendly service, keeping customers coming back year after year.
Their counter is always filled with an impressive selection of hummus varieties, fresh salads, and other dishes to take away. They also make delicious sandwiches using the ingredients on hand. My favourite, one I’ve probably had dozens of times over the years I lived and worked nearby, is the falafel sandwich “with everything” (you can choose to have it as a wrap or made with Turkish bread). I’m also fond of their tabbouleh and the lentil soup, especially on a cold day, and I can never resist trying the different hummus flavours.
Le Sud also has a section where it sells a variety of other products like wines, juices, oils and even fresh veggies.
