I live a rather vegetarian lifestyle in the sense that I never prepare meat at home... when it comes to fish, on the other hand, I do enjoy my 'guilty pleasures' once in a while, usually with a whole fish in my frying pan or in the oven, yummy! And to enjoy them even more, I go downtown to buy the very best quality. Tel is a fish trader in the harbour of IJmuiden and they deliver the fresh catch every morning to their little branch in Amsterdam.

Bream, mackerel, Salmon, trout, clams, lobster, crabs... they've got it all. Tell them you're having sashimi tonight and they'll give you even better quality, 100% trustworthy! And what comes with it is the cynical, somewhat grumpy talk of the guys - I know that's a matter of taste but I do enjoy their style and they definitely never mean to offend anybody :) Situated right next to Nieuwmarkt.
