Votsalakia beach is one of my favourite spots to relax near Athens. Enjoy the view, its sports courts, a café, an open pool, and even a summer cinema.

Many artists, musicians, actors, and painters have relocated to Mets, giving it a more bohemian feel. There are only a handful of shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants in the area, a fact that creates a more intimate and cosy atmosphere.

Plateia Proskopon is surely not as hip as Plateia Varnava or other spots in Pagrati but has a unique atmosphere.

Located on the top of Lycabettus hill, the highest spot of the city right in the center of Athens, it is a steep walk to reach Prasini Tenta, but just the view itself is worth the hike.

The longest river in Athens, Kifissos, is mostly built over & underground. But its final stretch that leads to the sea is a secret hidden in plain sight...

There is at least one family of "Urban Hoopoes" in Nea Smyrni, Athens. Come see them from up close and do some birdwatching in the city!
