Recently, I've gotten very into natural wines because the product expresses very well the concepts of locally made and organic produce - and without additives. In the same way as specialty coffee and craft beer, if you usually go to a place that has them, the whole experience has a greater probability to be awesome! And that's what happened with Garage Bar!
The founders have been doing a (now) super-popular natural wine fair in Barcelona since 2016 and started with natural wines in 2010, when you hardly heard of it in Spain. Their last version of the fair counted more than 150 producers from 14 countries.
And after this experience, they decided to create this amazing restaurant and wine store to share their passion and reach out to more and more people. The result is amazing: we tried their tasting menu that included several dishes with, again, local products made with great skill and passion and paired with amazing wines - from white to red, making a pass through the great orange wine, which is made with white grapes but fermented with the skin inside.
Some of the dishes we had: Russian shrimp salad paired with a great white wine and pork belly cooked at low temperature - that one was simply amazing.
The service is excellent: the sommelier explains to you all the dishes and wine pairing and all their wines have chemical analysis so they assure nothing is artificially added. I will return to buy a wine and eat, of course!
