I read about Mosquito on this blog (check the Mosquito article), and went to check it out. But, as it is such a small place, this Dim Sum restaurant is always full. So I was very happy to discover that just around the corner, the owner has a 2nd restaurant! Although the venue is also very small, Red Ant has a slightly more hidden location, so it often has a spot left for me.
Red Ant specialises in noodle dishes, but it offers quite a variety of Asian food. After studying the menu for almost half an hour, I still had difficulties making a decision. I would have ordered it all. But the staff here is a great help, recommending their favourites with such enthusiasm that you cannot ignore their advice. You can look straight into the kitchen where they are preparing your food on the spot, ensuring it is fresh and of high quality. The food they have is authentic Asian and if you like the Eastern cuisine; truly divine.
If you find the place full and you don't feel like waiting for a table, you can go to their take away point on Calle Giralt el Pellicer, 2. Same delicious food and with the lovely Barcelona climate it is a great alternative to have a lovely picnic in the nearby Parc Ciutadella!
