Em Nazih is the place to go if you're craving authentic Lebanese delights. This self-service restaurant and cafe has long been a staple in Beirut, with a branch, now closed, in Gemmayze and another in Hamra. The up-and-running branch in Hamra is located within a budget-friendly hotel (Hamra Urban Gardens) with a gym and a rooftop bar (Pool D'etat).
Known for its system, unique decor, and budget-friendly menu, Em Nazih is where you'd go on a lazy Sunday when you want to stuff your face with some good Lebanese food or on a casual coffee or drinks outing.
The Hamra branch is very cozy, and the whole self-service concept is actually one of very few in the country! Based on the notion of self-service, at Em Nazih, you choose your seats, order at the bar, and are then given a beeper, after which you pick up your own tray of food and are responsible for clean-up as well. It's not a very widely recognized concept here, but it works amazingly well for Em Nazih, as it can get crowded, especially during events held on the weekend.
Be sure to check out their daily platters as well as their events, it can get very fun on weekends, and don't miss out on their Musakhan, Batata Harra, or Sojok!
