Recently, I decided to explore the area of Zuqaq al Blat, also known as the "cobbled lane" and one of Beirut's old, authentic areas where you can see a lot of interesting-looking buildings, artworks etc. So while I was exploring, I bumped into a long wall across the street -- it was a unique artwork that caught my attention.
It wasn't the usual graffiti or art we see on the streets, but it was a wall of "things". I had never seen this before nor had I heard about it, and I did not know who to ask to get the story behind it. I tried googling it, only to find an old article that was not opening, but I managed to get a few sentences from the outside. It said "the Wall of Things" by Toufic Al Shaar, who is an installation artist and has a window shop.
I am sure this wall has a deeper story behind it and I am yet to find it out, but it is indeed a beautiful piece of art that no-one should miss!
Note: To find this spot, look for the Librairie du Liban Publishers and keep walking down --- you will see the whole wall.
