Fast food in Belgrade has become a part of everyday life. During the ’80s, fast food used to be the delicious end of a wild night. Not anymore: most young men and women, the consumers of fast food from nightlife now, are corporate people without the time for cooking (and without the wish to cook?)     

Fast food shops are popping up like mushrooms after the rain, but, unfortunately, they mostly vanish in the same way. One day you see a bakery, tomorrow it is a pizzeria, then a grill and so on.

Of course, if I thought that this would be the destiny of Spageterija, I would not be writing about it. On the contrary, I think it will last, mostly because of their quality food and our way of life. Having a quality, good, tasty, cheap, fast and relatively healthy meal today is a basic need for most people. And Spageterija offers all of that. Packed to stay warm, their pasta is a good substitute for a home-cooked meal. Some of the pasta on its menu: classic bolognese, carbonara, tuna mare…

Yes, I like it, especially because pasta is easy to digest. And yes, it is bad at the same time — you could be eating another one sooner than you thought!
