You know how you always get most excited about a place where you did not know what to expect – same goes for me at the Pinoy, a fantastic restaurant with cuisine from the Philippines. It is one of only two in Berlin, and if you prefer to stay away from the hype in Kreuzberg, this is your place.

Did I mention they have fantastic food as well as exotic drinks? I was enjoying fried pork meat in a chili peanut butter-sauce, accompanied with a surprising Aloe Vera-drink, so at least for this dish, it is really recommendable and far away from the boredom of the overloaded Berlin Asian restaurant market with it’s pre-rolled sushi and always-the-same dishes.

An explosion of taste awaits you in a nice ambiente in one of Berlin’s most noble, yet relaxed neighbourhoods, so as it’s getting warm you should pick a table outside and enjoy street life while dining. And even if you might not be able to afford a trip to the Philippines yourself, you might just give your tongue a very nice trip.
