The district of Spandau is home to some of Berlin's most beautiful forests, such as the Stadtwald. Not only can you walk under beautiful oak trees and enjoy pristine nature, you will also get to see some of the animals living in the forests of Berlin, such as deer and wild boars.
Feeding the animals is an activity that not only the little can enjoy, I've been coming here since I was a kid and it always amazes me how this forest gives you tranquility and lets you find your peace easily. If you come in spring, chances are high you can see (and feed) some extra cute baby pigs. The little water canals that run through the forest complete the feeling of really being out in the wild, while you are actually still in the city.
From Rathaus Spandau, take the Bus M45 and get of at "Johannesstift". Five minutes later, you'll be in another world.
