Located down the street from Berklee College of Music and the Symphony MBTA stop, Ichiban Yakitori Sushi House is a great place to grab a bite to eat before a night out at the symphony or a night of barhopping on Boylston Street. Out of all the sushi places in Boston, you might ask me, why ichiban? Well, the yakitori.
Yakitori typically refers to a style of skewered grilled chicken, but Ichiban offers way more than just chicken on their yakitori menu. Along with meat and seafood options, Ichiban also offers a lot of grilled vegetarian options, including eggplant, spiced corn (which is, in my opinion, amazing), and tofu. All of these are offered in small plates, so you can try a bunch of different things, or order a ton for your table to share tapas-style.
If you're in the mood for something else, never fear! Ichiban's got your back. They have plenty of sushi options (including a good few for all us vegetarians out there!) along with a bunch of Korean and Japanese specialties. They also have great deals on their Happy Hour menu (16:00 - 18:00 every day) and fresh, $1 oysters daily. Even if you're just going for a couple of drinks, Ichiban's stylish interior and quick service makes it an ideal spot for a date night.
