On any given night north of Boston, throngs of hip millennials are heading to one brewery, and one brewery only. Over the past few years, Nightshift has captured the imaginations, and the tastebuds of Boston locals with their massive array of beers and on point atmosphere.
Nightshift’s main location is just north of the city, in Everett, just off the Santilli Highway. A little out of the way, the journey is worth it. Once inside the revamped industrial building, you’ll find high ceilings, perfectly ambient lighting, two huge rooms each with their own bar, and massive banners of Nightshift’s signature hop owl adorning the wall.
But all the atmosphere in the world can’t cover up bad beer. Thankfully, Nightshift delivers. They’ve got a solid base of staples including some of the best beers on the Boston craft scene right now. My favorite is the 87, a hop forward DIPA. But if you want to weird, they have a constantly rotating lineup of creative sours and other unexpected brews popping up on a monthly basis.
