This is definitely one of my favorite spots in the city center. I call this place 'les maisons blanches' which literally means 'the white houses' because this place actually has no official name. The street name is Rue du Grand Hospice. This is my go-to place if I'm looking for a moment of peace in the city center. Surrounded by benches to sit on, trees, a little fountain, and very cute white houses, this is the perfect place to unwind and let the sun shine on your face through the leaves of the trees. The only cars that pass are those of the people living here, so this makes this place extraordinarily quiet for a big city like Brussels.
This calm, charming street never seems to disappoint me, and when you're not so in the mood for calm, you can always enter the doors of Jardin Hospice for a drink and some live music.
