""La Prăvălescu" in Bucharest is both a restaurant and a shop for meat, home-cooked sweets and other goodies. I have a tradition to come here every March..."

Planning a barbecue or a gathering in or near Bucharest? Bring some artisanal beers and the best meat to grill. La Prăvălescu is both a restaurant and a shop where you can buy fresh meat, cold cuts with natural ingredients, home-cooked sweets and other goodies. Turkey breast, hot sausages, the famous mici (grilled minced meat rolls), skewers, beef steak and so on. Here you can also find traditional cheese made in Romania and comfort food recipes. Even if you are looking just for a snack or something sweet, you won't be disappointed.

In the last years, I have maintained a tradition - each March I go to La Prăvălescu for mucenici. This is a dessert specific to Christian customs, which symbolizes the 40 martyrs of Sebaste, who were sentenced to death because they wouldn't give up their religion. They are available only in March. But don't worry, there are lots of sweets you could try during the rest of the year.

This place is a feast for senses - the smell of freshly baked products is incredible and the view of all the different foods so catchy!
