Every day you can find many people who work in the area of downtown and are looking for a place for lunch. You can easily find many fast foods restaurants, but it's possible you might be bored of this kind of food, whereas Tabliabalady is trying to serve a food like what you would eat at home cooked by your mother.
It offers 3 different main plates every day with some other options for the Egyptian appetizers and green salads. What makes it amazing is that you can get a full experience of homemade food with the kitchen in the same place and many perfect smells coming to your nose. It's clear that Tabliabalady is a family business where you can find the whole family participating in cooking and serving.
The menu is based on Egyptian food and style in everything -- starting from: the Eish baladi for the bread (Tehina, Babba Ghannoug and torshi) and the appetizers and many options for the main courses like Molokhyia, Kebab, Kofta, Bammia, Fattah, Hawawshi, Mahshi, Macaroni béchamel, Mesaqa‘ah and Mombar.
After the meal, don't forget to ask for the dessert of the day. Last time I was there, I tried konafa with banana which was really perfect and a new choice for me.
Tabliabaladi is very keen on the Egyptian style on decoration and colors as well, with Egyptian furniture in tables and chairs (Tablia is the name for a local type of tables which Egyptians used to use).
