Enjoying the sunny weather in autumn and winter in outdoor places is such a nice, personal experience to do in Egypt. Zamalek is my favorite place to do this, just because it is an island on the Nile. Moreover, it's considered to be one of the most historical suburbs in Cairo.
I prefer walking on the Nile cornice of Zamalek starting from Om Kholthom hotel until reaching The Mood restaurant. Once you enter there, you will get a lot of positive vibes from the place. A wide view on the Nile, many tables indoor and outdoors, and a friendly staff.
My full suggested program is: start with a cup of Turkish coffee or espresso at eleven, choose your breakfast from many options in the menu such as omelet, fries and cheese toast (breakfast is until 13:00). Then, enjoy some shisha in the fresh air with any juice.
If you wish to get your lunch there, you can try manakesh with cheese and sausage.
