There are many Eastern European people living in Copenhagen. Every nationality in north-eastern Europe is represented here; they have either come to work or to study. But whenever you go to another country, many people including myself are missing some specific things from back home. In many cases you're missing that special brand of beer or that special brand of spirit from your home country.
Here in Copenhagen we have a place where all Eastern Europeans can go and get a bit nostalgic for a while and most certainly find a specific brand from the country in which they were born.
Gorki Café-Bar is the name of this place and it is situated in Nansensgade near the lakes and not too far from the inner city of Copenhagen. Gorki Café-Bar is a small and cozy place offering a wide range of beers and spirits from the Baltic states, Poland down to central Europe and the Balkan peninsula. They always have special events, I have for example been to Gorki Café-Bar for the Estonian Independence Day one time.
A wonderful place that offers something very different.
