Madglad is the place to go in Copenhagen for healthy, good, simple and more or less organic food. And since I’ve spent another few years as a student, I was automatically forced to find the cheapest restaurants in town.
Madglad cafeteria is based on a community dinner concept, which means the food here is very affordable for everyone. The kitchen serves many kinds of food and there are plenty of dishes to choose from, so there is something for everyone. Oh, did I mention it has a lunch buffet for 35 DKK?
Pay at the counter when you come in, choose a dish (vegetarian or meat dish) and go to the back and top up your plate with bread and salads, as much as you can eat.
I chose to write about this restaurant for several reasons. For starters I like to contribute to the community. All the nice people that are kind enough to make sure we can all eat well and at affordable prices. Secondly it’s good homemade food, nice service, very local and a nice change to all the other restaurants and especially junk food spots.
Opening hours for lunch are from 11:30 – 15:00 in weekdays.
And they open up again for dinner (to-go or to-stay) from 16:30 – 21:00.
Enjoy yourself with a cheap, good meal. Stay in or take out, it’s up to you.
