If you like to hang out and drink with friends (like I do), if you are a book-worm (like I am) and you love to listen to live music (like I also do), you can understand how enthusiastic I am about La Cité. This is the spot for my favourite way to spend my time, meeting each other. It is a cozy café with raw furniture, a nice atmosphere and shelves full of books all around. Those books are not there just as an ornament, in fact, it is possible to purchase them, since La Cité is also a bookshop.
They have a good choice of teas (according to Italian standards), and the cocktails they serve are quite good: I recommend Aperol Spritz if you wanna go soft and Negroni (original cocktail from Florence) if you want to go hard.
Despite the limited amount of space inside, there are often small concerts (well, not in Summer, it would be too hot), but when it happens on the weekends it becomes almost impossible to get inside, since it is so crowded that most of the people have to hang out outside the front door. When it is like that, you might try to get inside NoF, which is almost in front of it, but it is even smaller there, so I can't guarantee you can squeeze there.
