If you are in Florence and you don't come here at least once you are not doing it right!
So this is one of the only sit-down "tripperie" in town, you do not want to ask me what trippa is - let's just say it is an inside part of a cow. Let me tell you though that Luca Cai knows how to work those insides! And it is not just about the trippa and lampredotto, they have an amazing selection of meat and Florentine specialties.
I tried a fried Fiorentina steak that was something I could eat for my last meal if I could choose! The service is cool, it is like being in someone's home but you are in the middle of Piazza della Passera, one of my favorite piazzas in Florence. It is all a little heavy in the summer and they have only 2 tables outside, so make sure to book ahead of time, go in the winter and don't eat at lunch if you are going for dinner!
