Some places seem as if they have stopped in time. Café Kante is one of those places. Cafe Kante is a bakery, a café and a pastry shop -sometimes it is even the stage for cultural events. This 1950's style café presents us with delicious treats, served with coffee, tea, or even some alcoholic beverages. You will often find people who go there to read the newspaper, or a book, to meet friends or to indulge in sweet cakes, quiches, sandwiches or rich breakfasts.
Cafe Kante reminds me of the antique cafés of the city where I was born (Porto, Portugal), and going there always feels like going back to that comfortable feeling of having a good coffee in a place where you are not encouraged to pay and go. In Summer there is also a terrace.
To reach Café Kante take the underground line U4 until Merianplatz. Take the chance to grab a book at the public bookcase on the corner (check the Bucherschranke article) and enjoy your time.
