Das Mühlberglädchen is a neighborhood shop, no it's a newspaper stall, or rather a little cafe or a coffee-shop, or actually it's an event location.... it's simply all of that. Just recently it won the award "Wasserhäuschen of the year", even though it's definitely not a "Wasserhäuschen". Sorry if that's confusing to you, but all this is necessary to describe what Zoltan calls his living room.
He sells newspapers and magazines, you can play Lotto, browse through all kind of Eintracht Frankfurt fan articles, buy Hungarian specialties or simply go there to meet your neighbors, gather for a coffee or simply a chat. It's all about the neighborhood.
I get my breakfast rolls there in the morning and stop for a small chat about what is new around the Mühlberg.
Das Mühlberglädchen is popular and gets really crowded on selected Friday evenings, when Zoltan opens his shop until late and invites singers and musicians to perform in the charming atmosphere of his shop. I really liked the poetry slammers recently and Zoltan promised to get into more of this.
The best Fridays are when Zoltan grills his own (legendary!) burger specialities and people crowd around the shop for a drink and burgers. Wonderful and worth the long (!) waiting times. These events are also popular for kids!
Always look out for his black board in front of the shop, with his specials like the one I recently saw: "Today: Homemade cheesecake and 3 Million Lotto Jackpot!" - I went for the cake!
