One of the most beautiful places in Frankfurt is around the "Alte Oper" (Old Opera House), a very impressive building with a picturesque water fountain and romantic lanterns around. You can enjoy the sun almost until it sets, outside heaters keep you warm on colder days, as well!
In most locations you cannot have a coffee or snack without being surrounded by an oyster-slurping crowd as a lot of champagne bars have gathered here. With the opening of "Papa Enj", located as the last one in a row of restaurants, we enjoy our weekend lunch at this carefully designed venue quite regularly.
Concerning drinks, the coffee is great, as well as the rhubarb spritz with fresh mint leaves. Wines are a bit pricey, but well-selected. For food, we often go for the tuna tartar with Avo (€ 17/ € 29 for 2), but the burgers with homemade sweet potato fries are fantastic as well. Before leaving, be sure to try their "chocolate bomb" with your espresso.
The menu includes several constant dishes, but there are frequent changes according to the time of the year- and be sure to have a look a their daily offers as well.
If you travel with small kids, this place is great as well. No cars in sight, and painting books and crayons are available as well. No need to mention that the staff is very attentive to kids' needs.
