Do you ever start feeling worn out by the corporate world, the high heels and the ties and the classiness and fanciness and all that jazz? I know I do and that is the reason I feel so comfortable in Berlin - it is relaxed and informal and simply unpretentious. But does that have to do with anything?
Well, theplacetobe will give you that relaxed and informal feeling of being in Berlin. Or at least that is the feeling I get whenever I am there. Attached to its sister place, called Souper, theplacetobe really is the place to be if you're up for a late morning coffee, a light lunch, an after-work beer or an evening cocktail. You can order from both places and enjoy the common terrace with a bowl a soup, or a drink, and enjoy a much-needed break.
The staff are always nice but if you are sitting outside it might be worth going in and ordering directly from the counter. I really enjoy going there on Fridays after work, sitting outside on the unpretentious terrace with a good book and an Astra beer, recharging my batteries for the weekend ahead. Its light and relaxed mood always lifts my spirits and makes for the perfect start of a replenishing weekend!
