If you want to have a taste of German life, you must go to a kneipe. The kneipe is a neighbourhood pub where you can meet friends for a drink after work, grab a quick bite or simply drop by for a beer and a chat.Â
Formerly known as a student-kneipe, Zum Tannenbaum is one of those places which will take you on a tour through the German culture. Its rustic wooden decoration sets the stage for its traditional character, where people hang around with friends in a relaxed environment. A kicker table and a series of board games are at our disposal and make the joy of many. Add a few Licher beers and you have the perfect recipe for a fun night out with friends just around the corner.
I enjoy going to Zum Tannenbaum for an after-work drink - sometimes I go alone to enjoy some reading time, sometimes I go with friends for a couple of hours of joyful, informal, uncomplicated laughter.Â
On Sunday evenings, Tatort (the German CSI TV series) is on, and many join the session for finishing their weekends and recharging batteries for the week to come. Just drop by for a real taste of German neighbourhood life. You really cannot miss it! Just keep in mind not to step on the cat dish on the way in! ^^
