After a long night out with friends and maybe a few drinks more than usual, El Baraka is, without a doubt, an obligatory stop for a tasty and juicy kebab -- probably the best in town!
Open every day, including Sunday, until late at night, this tiny kebab shop located just in front of the 14 tram stop in Jonction, is very well known, especially among the young crowd.
I pass by El Baraka every evening when coming back from work and it is always packed. Sometimes there is even a queue outside during the beautiful season, when a lot of people like to get a takeaway kebab and eat it on the waterfront of the Rhone river, at La Pointe, just a few minutes away from there.
One of their bestsellers is the famous “mitraillette”: a "demi-baguette" filled with either chicken or lamb shawarma, salad, onions, tomatoes, sauce and chips. Not super healthy, but SOOO tasty!!
And for only CHF 10.- you can get a combo with a sandwich plus a soft drink of your choice -- a very good deal for Geneva prices.
The place is not fancy, but worth a visit if you are in the mood for a very fulfilling kebab sandwich! The staff is very friendly too.
