Geneva may be known for its high-street shopping – Prada, Gucci, Rolex, etc – but if you look carefully, it has its fare share of boutiques too. If you happen to be in Eaux-Vives, rest your eyes on the whimsical women’s clothes at Wunderchic.
Now 10 years old, this boutique has a great little collection of clothes, shoes and accessories that are fun, charming and work appropriate. Dresses and blouses with playful, pretty or bold print patterns, cardigans in a range of lively colours, and trendy but discrete leather accessories and shoes will keep your look fresh without being too showy. What’s doubly gratifying about shopping here is that you know you are supporting small labels by designers who otherwise don’t get much play. That’s as close as you might get to being the proud owner of a unique piece - without spending your life savings. (And when the deed is done, head two doors down to Café de la Nonna to treat yourself to an Italian cocktail!)
