What to do on a Sunday afternoon? The city offers plenty of things, but besides museums and shops one has to eat as well. Within the historic centre you can find the place to be for an mid-afternoon break.
One of my favorite places to have a coffee and some pie is Julie's House at the Kraanlei. Julie offers a cozy nostalgic setting where she serves the best cupcakes and pie. The variety you get in front of you is just mouth-watering. I am a big fan of the Snickers pie, crème brûlée or a good old fashioned cheese cake with cranberry topping. And in case you didn't have the time to pass by, Julie opened a second shop near the railway station Gent-Sint-Pieters (address: Koningin Elizabeth-laan 26, 9000 Gent).
Enjoy!
"The Virgin", a little fresco was revealed on November 18, 2014 in Ghent. I first followed the reaction of Pierre Pierlala, who called it an 'enlarged stamp'
