Let's be honest, taste is the most important thing when it comes to food. But what is the second most important thing? Indeed, it's color - you should be able to eat a tasty salad with your eyes. But before you poke a fork into your eye, know that the salads at Soepplus not only look amazing, they also taste tremendously good.
The combination of flavours and textures is one of the reasons why Soepplus is one of my favourite lunch spots. I always order a small salad, where you can choose two different salad toppings. Always choose the cauliflower salad - for me it’s the best. Some of you will know Yotam Ottolenghi, an Israeli-born British chef. A lot of the salads have the Ottolenghi touch, and that makes me very happy.
Besides the numerous vegetarian and non-vegetarian salads, you can choose out of three different soups every day, a lot of original sandwiches and toast. The soup comes with two thick slices of delicious Belgian bread and butter. For the sweet tooths among us, there are also nice deserts.
Tip: If you’re an architecture lover, you will have the most perfect lunch ever - you can eat your soup and salad while looking at ‘De krook’, the brand new public library of Ghent. The perfect food for the mind. Enjoy!
