Töölö district in Helsinki is not exactly known for its nightlife but rather for its beautiful ’20s architecture, and grandmas. But definitely Töölö also has its festive side!
Bar Favela is situated in Töölö, but only a short walk from Kamppi. In my opinion, Bar Favela is a very nice addition to Helsinki’s nightlife, as it is not only a bar serving great drinks, but they have amazing food, too! This is something that the Finnish bar scene had been lacking for a long time — usually, Finnish restaurants are strictly either pubs or restaurants. But luckily, the scene is changing: is there anything better than a night out with your friends, including a nice meal?!
Bar Favela has a very nice and regularly changing list of beers and wines and they also make great cocktails. The food is homemade and very reasonably priced – what’s not to like! My personal favorite dishes are the bean “bread” with homemade fries or the famous fish ‘n’ chips. Bar Favela has several vegetarian and vegan options, including the super-tasty homemade vegan ice cream!
Bar Favela also hosts monthly jazz concerts, in addition to other gigs occasionally, so it’s worth checking their news regularly.
