Kalamış neighborhood is one of my favorite spots on the Asian side of Istanbul. As you all know, our city is full of people so it's hard to find empty spots. I always find some peace in this neighborhood. There are some small cafes and a great park near the sea. Boter is a great option with its small backyard and takeaway options.
'Boter' means "butter" in Dutch. The founders say that they picked Boter as a brand name because they like to use good quality butter in their pastries. During this pandemic, I mostly visited them for takeaway. I really like their healthy, gluten-free, sugar-free pastry varieties with good quality coffee.
After grabbing coffee with the pastries, my favorite spot is Kalamış park just a few steps away from Boter. Before the pandemic, they also had great breakfast options such as Alles Klar (German breakfast). Waiting for those COVID-less days to enjoy such local spots!
