Imagine two economists who love to cook. After finishing University and several unsuccessful job interviews Til Pleterski and Klemen Ptičak decided to start their own business. With a great selection of food the Hood Burger is one of my favorite burger places in town. Although I am not a big fan of burgers and other junk food, this place is different. And simply great!
Til and Klemen buy ingredients only from Slovenian producers and they support local production, definitely a thumbs up for this decision. "Each burger has to be perfect so each component (meat, vegetables, cheese ...) of it needs to be the best" they told me not so long ago. And every burger really is tasty. Another wonderful thing about the place is that at the end of the day they give their leftover bread to a society of volunteers who help people in need throughout Slovenia.
On the warm days they also organize small concerts in front of their place in the city centre. Atmosphere is just amazing. Good music and great food - is there any better combination than that?
And just another small hint - when ordering a burger, don't forget to add homemade fries (fried in high-quality peanut oil) as well as Bevog, a Slovenian craft beer, or fresh lemonade to your order. What a perfect combination for a great lunch or dinner! There is no way of saying "next time" about this amazing burger place when you are in town.
