When I entered into the store Salvador Bachiller (a bag and suitcase shop) located at Montera street, the last thing I expected was that on the third floor there would be an elegant and vintage style tea room and on the fourth floor there would be a very romantic terrace.
Wooden tables with white wrought iron chairs, flowers, vines, a swing seat, even a gazebo, El Jardin Secreto of Salvador Bachiller is a vintage oasis in the heart of Madrid. The menu comes in a little shelter for birds and the friendly waitress are dressed as flight attendants of the '60s who will bring you the bill in a little wooden box that imitates a book. The details are beautifully kept, being there was like being in a fairy tale.
They offer classic and iced teas, coffee, ice cream, smoothies, cocktails with color shining ice cubes (¡!), gin-tonics, breakfasts, snacks... they even have a meal menu with focaccias, sushi, sandwiches and salads with prices around € 10.
