The Hat is a new hotel concept, located in a former palace of the nineteenth century that had been closed for years at the heart of "La Latina". They define themselves as a new accommodation concept for smart travelers, an open space based on design, sustainability and technology. In fact, is the first hotel in Madrid using biomass energy.
And the best part is that they are more than a hotel: the hidden rooftop terrace is perfect for chilling out and mingling, they offer drinks and some typical Spanish plates such as "tostas", "salmorejo", "tortilla"... And don't be afraid if you think it's cold because they've a glasshouse.
But not only the terrace is great, they organise a lot of activities and tours around the city. For example, every day at 21:00 they have traveller's meeting: 2x1 on drinks and Spanish lessons! As they say "wherever I lay my hat, that's my home".
P.S. pick one of their cool "hand drawn" maps of Madrid at the front desk.
