I don’t know about you but whenever I think about a lighthouse I usually imagine a very tall tower --- 4 storeys at least, on a stormy coast, away from other buildings. This Old Lighthouse, so called “inre fyr”, stands inconspicuously surrounded by much taller buildings not far from Malmö central station. I like the place mainly because it is close to the center but a bit isolated so you can get away from the hassle of the city.
It is, of course, no longer in use, but I found information that it was functional until 1983 and it was apparently moved at some point to the location where it is now. I couldn’t find information on the previous spot, just some old postcards from the beginning of the 20th century. Malmö doesn't have that many landmarks and this little lighthouse for me became one of them.
It is a lovely spot and a lovely walk around one of the channels, and although the lighthouse itself is closed, you can walk around it and watch the big ships further out come and go.
