An industrial estate is probably the last place you'd look for a decent bookshop, and yet Sharston Books, located in Sharston Industrial Estate in Wythenshawe, is one of my favourite places to go for a good explore.
Housed in a warehouse as well as a shipping container (yes, a shipping container) and established over 20 years ago, this second-hand bookshop is a truly hidden gem for any bibliophile or bookworm.
Stocking thousands of books of every type and genre you can imagine, books in Sharston Books are piled high and sometimes the shop itself can feel rickety, but honestly, that just adds to the whole experience!
Staff are knowledgeable and helpful and will offer to order books in if for some reason you can't find what you're looking for. Personally, I very much enjoy looking through the many aisles to see what I can find, but if you're looking for something specific, the slightly rag-tag nature can make this difficult, but staff are always willing to help!
No matter what you're looking for you can probably find it in Sharston Books, whether you're interested in Self Help or True Crime, Beano magazines or rare or out of print books you'll find something for you.
Sharston Books is definitely the place to go for any bookworms looking for an alternative to a high-street bookshop, and even better? They can be found online!
