In the heart of the Condesa neighborhood there is the smallest, coziest bar I’ve ever seen. Baltra bar is a place inspired by Darwin’s journeys through the Galapagos Islands. The walls are decorated with art inspired by nineteenth century drawings of plants and insects. Also, there are some glass boxes with simulated traces of Charles Darwin expeditions: skulls, dried flowers, seashells and a huge collection of dissected bugs.
It’s a quiet and intimate place to taste the best drinks of the city. The drink menu is special - the design as well as its content; it simulates an ancient science book and every drink has a special place. The bartenders usually suggest one of its special drinks, listen to them and you will never regret it. There’s a large supply of gin cocktails but you can also drink a craft beer or a tea-infused cocktail. The food menu is limited -- it’s not somewhere to have a meal.
It’s a small place so I suggest you RSVP.
IztaccÃhuatl 36-D, Condesa.
