Good god is this place good! In the heart of Polanco in Mexico City, you can find Garum, the restaurant where chef Vicente Torres creates and delights with beautiful, delicious and fresh dishes.
If you're looking to try really modern and creative food, this is the place. The dishes are made with the ingredients in season, carefully arranged, transformed and presented. Each dish is as beautiful as it is tasty, but the aspect I enjoyed the most was the surprises you can find in every mouthful. Yes, you know you're about to eat tomato, but when it's in your mouth, it's the tastiest and curiously different tomato you've ever tasted. It is as if the chefs take you by the hand in a magical journey of flavors, textures and colors through their food.
The service is excellent, with the captain explaining every dish and every preparation, making you feel as all your questions are welcomed and appreciated. Which for me, is a great deal, as I consider myself a really curious person.
It's a perfect romantic spot, and along the service and the food, it's no wonder the chef has earned a Michelin Star for his wonderful creations, attention to detail and magical experiences.
