Mercado Lázaro Cárdenas is one of my favorite markets in Mexico City; it opened its doors in 1956 and offers a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as a variety of gastronomic options.
Among the different restaurants inside the market, I would recommend Comedor Yolanda. It is a mini two-floor spot that has been serving Mexican comfort food since 1992.
This market mixes "the usual" with gourmet delicacies; alternative hot dogs of homemade sausage, serrano ham tapas & method coffee with grains of choice. By the way, don't forget to stop by Passmar</a>; although this place has one of the best coffee in the city, it remains a secret inside hall four of Mercado Lázaro Cárdenas, in Del Valle.
In this market, you can also find flowers, candles and everything you could need for any season of the year.
I really recommend you to visit this spot alone and with friends or family.
