With around half a century of experience, Tortas El Paisa offers a delicious choice of tacos and tortas almost any time. (We call torta anything edible inside a bread roll).
You will find this small but tasty place about 5 minutes on foot along the subway viaduct on the blue line.
The place is open from 08:00 to 5:00 and its closeness to Roma, Condesa and Centro neighborhoods makes it a good option if you want to fill the tank after the party.
My favorite meal -and also that of the people I have taken to eat there- is the torta campechana thas has pastor with pierna (thigh bone pork meat). The pastor tacos are also very good.
Don't forget to ask for some of the chipotle sauce; they have some spicy sauces in little bottles, but the best is the chipotle one. The campechana torta + chiplote sauce + a lot of lemon is the perfect mix to eat after a good party.
You may or may not find yourself in a long line, depending on the time you get there. If you want tacos will be the row on the left and if you want tortas will be the one on the right.
At the end, because the tortas are full of meat and there is always some of it left in the plate, ask for some tortillas and make yourself some tacos: you will get tacos and torta for the same price.
