Across the park of Alameda Central towards Reforma, you will find the Valiant. It's in a hidden place on a street where you would not imagine there could be nightlife; just by walking around there, however, the sound of the guitar and the drums will catch your attention.
It's a small restaurant during the day, kind of a fonda with Mexican food, but at night it transforms into an open space for independent bands with an ideal atmosphere, whether you want to party or just enjoy the music and a cold beer. They have rock music in English and Spanish, good service, all kinds of drinks, craft beers, snacks like cheese fingers, chicken wings etc... All this at affordable prices, so you won't have to break your pocket.
Sometimes they have some events like DJ presentations, as well as jazz and blues - you just have to check their announcements on the facebook page.
Fridays or Saturdays are the best days to hit this spot at night, it's a good option getting there around 21:00, at that time bands are already playing, otherwise it might be a bit full, but you can always grab a place at the bar area.
