I would dare say that ice cream is a big deal in CDMX. Mexico City is one of the few lucky cities in the world where we experience mildly hot weather throughout the year, making ice cream one of the most common snacks for its citizens. Although the city is infested with Michoacanas (traditional Mexican ice cream parlors), Helados Cometa offers a unique menu of hand-picked flavours. Located in the heart of La Roma, Helados Cometa is a small and chic space where you can find the best fFrench-style ice cream with traditional Mexican ingredients.
Their menu is constantly adapting depending on what fruits are in season. There is no wrong call when ordering at Helados Cometa. I have honestly never been disappointed. If you visit them during the summer, be sure to order the plum (ciruela) sorbet. Oh, right. They divide their ice cream between sorbets (water-based) and regular ice cream (milk/cream-based), so it’s also vegan friendly!
