"Le Colonne Gelateria" are the red writings on a cream and green square of one of the most delicious ice cream shops in Milan. The place is really inviting, not only because of the big posters suggesting "crepes" and "ice creams", placed on both sides of the entrance, but especially for perfume.
That perfume of sweets hovering around you like in the Hansel and Gretel fairy tale, when the two found the gingerbread house in the forest. The interior is cozy and well cared for. On the walls you'll find handmade pictures of the ice cream's most popular ingredients. The ice cream man will be eager to explain those with patience and passion from the other side of the marble counter.
I'm greedy, always in doubt in choosing between ice cream and crepes. Ice creams are available in a few but well selected flavors while crepes have a long list of choices going from Nutella to chocolate, passing through pears and chantilly cream with strawberries. All choices are prepared fresh and handmade.
However, these are all the real specialties of the shop, that from 1999 decided to offer the customers their dishes also as takeaway, giving to any greedy "Milanese" the opportunity to satisfy his own needs, either when in a hurry, or in winter.
