Don’t miss an opportunity to watch one of the 19 spherical movies and cartoons from Tuesday to Friday (12:00-17:00) all year round in the Minsk Planetarium. The movie of your choice can be screened in any of the following languages: Russian, Belarusian, English, French, Chinese, Japanese, Czech, Romanian, Estonian or Polish. The tours are only available in Russian, though.
There are many other projects: Minsk International Fulldome Festival, Scientist tribune, and concerts ’’Music and Stars’’, to name a few. ’’A starry sky for two’’ could be a perfect gift for someone special.
Although I enjoy all the new movies and lectures at Planetarium, short starry sky ‘’tours’’ are the best part at the end of each session. It’s probably the closest one can get to stars. Luckily, the level of light pollution is not that high, and Minsk is not too bright at night, so you can also explore the stars on your own whenever the sky is clear. So there is no need to wait for the next #InternationalDarkSkyWeek to celebrate the Dark Sky.
A bonus spot in the vicinity: Do you miss that childish pure joy? Get a chance to have a snowball fight at the nearby hockey school ”Youth”, where you can find snow all year round.
