Kitayskie novosti was opened several years ago. Now there are three places in Moscow.
It is a great place to make you imagine you are on a street in China under street-lamps near cargo containers. There are two halls with large open-space, no private area. And it is perfect.
In general I like it when the menu is laconic. That's when I believe the chefs are well-trained in their cuisine. The only thing I didn't like here was the eggplants in black sauce. The rest of the dishes are quite good. For dessert there are only fruits and an extremely tasty rice pudding which is just perfect.
If you sit at a table "along the main street" you can observe the cooking process above a glass wall.
What I like very much is that all the tea is served in a small transparent tea-press with a huge thermos of hot water.
At the entrance different real Chinese tea is sold by weight and deals are available through the iiko.net discount system.
