One guy thought that Prague's café scene was rather boring and uninteresting - so he decided to open his own, Café v Lese. This project was very successful and now is one of the top hipster places. Other projects are pianos in the street or chess tables located in various places around the city. Café Neustadt is another one of his ideas.
This café is located in the area of New Town city hall (Novoměstská radnice). You can sit inside behind the glass windows or sit outside in the courtyard and listen to someone playing on a nearby standing piano (you can try it too). Aside from a great coffee you can also order nice beers or drinks, you just need to pick from the menu written on the wall.
What I like at this place are the concert evenings. Every now and then non-mainstream bands play in the courtyard and the place usually gets very crowded. If you find yourself there during the day, get a coffee and visit the exhibition Neviditelná výstava - it's an exhibition in total darkness - I will write no more, you just have to try it! Just don't forget to book it first.
