Autumn has come in full force in Prague in the last couple of weeks. The leaves are starting to change colors and falling onto the streets glistening from all the rain we've been having and even the most resilient lovers of outside seating have put on their coats. However, the dark sneaking earlier and earlier upon us also means something much more exciting - it's theatre season!
Let me introduce to you one of my personal picks when it comes to Prague's theatre color pallette: we're talking new circus and theatre of movement.
Jatka 78 is located in the heart of Pražská tržnice (the Prague market) in one of the old abattoir buildings. Quite a history, I know, but don't worry - the atmosphere inside is welcoming and artistic. Come to one of the performances of the local ensemble Cirk La Putyka, check out the current art exhibition in the foyer or get a drink and get cozy in one of the colorful chairs. The place works as a café/bistro/bar and a creative space for the ensembles, so you're likely to have lunch next to acrobats from all over the world here. The entry to the foyer and bar is free, for the ticket prices check their website.
Also check the monthly programme for workshops and concerts taking place!
